This is the new CIEH Level 1 award in Food Safety. It is a half-day course suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with no previous food safety knowledge, employees handling low risk food or for those who work directly with customers / clients such as waiting and healthcare workers It can be useful as part of an induction programme.

- Food Safety (food hygiene, hazards, responsibilities)
- Personal Hygiene
- Cleaning
- Contamination
Assessment is by 15 multi-choice question examination
